Their courtship began with a walk in the rain
Her sweater was buttoned, his hat brim pulled down
In the mist haloed street lamps stood muted and still
As they walked without making a sound

Past wide-windowed store fronts that looked strangely new
For only a moment they stopped just to see
In the window’s reflection her arm slip through his
As she walked with the man of her dreams
